Mom and her Boys | San Diego Family Photographer | Alicia Q. Photography
I had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful family at Balboa Park. Mom had warned me the day before that she hoped I was "ready" to photograph her boys. I was a little nervous for what was in store, but it turns out her boys are not unlike any other boys. Lively, fun, and completely honest. It was nice having a look into the future at the different stages my own baby boy will go through.
I had a great time with you guys, Barb! I hope you enjoy this sneak peek!

Chic, Party of Three | Temecula Family Photographer | Alicia Q. Photography
Finally getting caught up with blogging...
When this family arrived for their session, I had flashbacks from the previous day's shoot. They were all wearing black coats, too! This was planned, apparently, as the two families are close friends. I felt a little left out. No one sent me the memo! And to think, I have a black pea coat that needs breaking in this fall. I would have fit right in!
They looked like they had just stepped off the streets of London, especially with the gals' wool caps. Aren't they cute?? And they knew how to work 'em, too. I had so much fun with little J. She was a real pro when it came to posing herself and giving me "the eye". I could have taken her photo all day.
Here is a sneak peek from their session. A little overdue, but it's here! Enjoy, M family!

Lovely little lady | San Diego Child Photographer
Just a warning-- this might be the cutest little girl you've ever seen. Look at those curls and big brown eyes! Atiana is such a little angel! Like most kids this age, she wanted to play and explore instead of have her picture taken. That's always expected with toddlers. But I sure had a great time living in her world at the park with mom and grandma. Atiana tried to join another kid's birthday party at one point and loved the music mommy played for her from her cell phone. The cutest part of our session together was when she attempted to clean the park by throwing leaves into the trash can-- one by one. What a good girl!
I know mom and grandma were very excited for this sneak peek. I hope you enjoy it!

MCAS Miramar Air Show 2010 | San Diego Photographer
I intended to blog about this year's Air Show a couple of weeks ago, but it's been so hectic around my house that I'm just getting to it now. So, here it is :)
My mom used to take me to the Miramar Air Show when I was a kid, back when the air station belonged to the Navy (think "Top Gun"). It was a family tradition, although most of the time it was just my mom and I. My dad was usually working and my brother preferred to sleep in rather than look at military aircraft and watch the Blue Angels. They missed out on a lot of good memories. It was something I waited for every year. My mom instilled in me a love of all things military and patriotic. Is it any wonder I ended up with a U.S. Marine?
Unfortunately, my relationship with my mother isn't what it used to be, but I wanted to continue the same family tradition with my son. Last year I was just days away from giving birth, so I missed the show. But this year it just so happened my mother-in-law was in town visiting the same weekend. Of course we headed out to Miramar to take in the sights-- and heat. It is always SO hot on that tarmac! But it is ALWAYS worth it :)
Here are some of my favorite shots from the day. I still get goosebumps when I see the jets flying over the 15 freeway and I'll cherish these photos for a lifetime. I can't wait until I get to show my son these one day. I hope they'll refresh his childhood memories like they do mine.
